Certainly building and utilizing artificial intelligence tools and capabilities should, if done right, improve the human condition. If we were building artificial empathy along side artificial intelligence, I know we’d all be better off.
How can one successfully apply intelligence to a situation without the inclusion of empathy, and for that matter respect? How will empathy be added to the equation?
I know this is probably at the heart of the humanity issue that evolutionary artificial intelligence will be striving for and, hopefully, eventually achieving. But why can’t we go there first? Wouldn’t an Empathy Add In be just the right thing at the right time today? Respect, empathy, contemplation and insight are aspects of the entire application of intelligence which need layering in so that the solutions coming out of AI do truly improve the human condition.
Where can I buy an Empathy App?
*As a footnote, machine learning and AI do owe a tremendous amount of their skillset to digesting digital content which exhibits sought after traits – I’d be hard pressed in today’s day and age to figure out where AI can learn empathy. That’s a problem.
