The expertise to govern and control AI is mostly just taking shape. One can view this as old art needing to be applied to a new solution set, or a completely new art yet to be developed. Either way, AI that is not given appropriate oversight and control in an organization will quickly grow out of control and probably lead to significant unintended consequences over time.
The concept I am trying to highlight is that AI had been pervasively used in video surveillance that primarily occurred in public places where privacy may or may not have been assumed. Public places are public places. Now AI has taken the leap to the camera attached to any computer using most any application connected in some way outside one's personal network. And, if you are not the owner of the meeting and just a participant, you may even be aware that you are being used to train AI.
With breakthroughs in computing power, cloud services, storage and sophisticated learning and adapting models, new and novel applications of AI capabilities have become a reality or can become the new reality.
Is this a variation of the Fear of Missing Out or just an internet slant on celebrity endorsements. If it's on the internet, everyone must be doing it and if the person is on the internet, they must be a celebrity. They even have their own dedicated YouTube channel!
Incremental changes won't cut it here. Everything needs to be reimagined, and how can that be done given all of the various interested or committed parties and sometimes diverging desires. The overall media based entertainment model is broken and requires a step change, not an incremental change.
I hope that I am a more well-rounded individual having experienced a wide variety of input throughout my entire life. I have certainly self-selected much of my reading material as an adult, but I have strived to include as diverse a selection as possible over time. Have I been in training all this time and I didn't realize it?
The next level of benefit from an integrated ERP solution though, is being able to derive insights from the information painstakingly captured and integrated by the ERP. An ERP of course allows for the automation of the operational aspects of a business and creates the ability for managers and leaders to make more informed business decisions based on insights drawn from the ERP data.
At what point in the hierarchy of an entire organization does management shift from oversight of purpose and ensuring outcomes to management of the employee? At what point does effectively providing guidance and setting appropriate goals for employees translate to "I have to supervise you" versus "I want to ensure you are adding value to our organization in the intended manner"?
It continues to intrigue me on how limited in scope some organizations can be. Except for maybe what are considered the top strategic roles in a company, i.e. CEO, President, CFO, COO, and CIO, identifying and recruiting for positions is very parochial.
The application of artificial intelligence and analysis to understanding and generating humorous content, such as jokes, puns, and humanly amusing stories is referred to computational humor. These area of AI development can also be called computational comedy. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is the relative oxymoronic ring to computational comedy. Isn't comedy by its nature instinctive and more closely aligned with reaction than with computation? Maybe I just don't get it!
