Price Sculpture Forest is a wonderful art exhibit set outside in a walkable forested area outside of Coupeville on Whidbey Island. The Sculpture Forest has two separate but linked walking trails, one is very flat and accessible, with the second being slightly more hilly and uneven.
It is difficult to capture the expanse and beauty of this Washington State Park. Deception Pass State Park is located between Anacortes and the northern tip of Whidbey Island. From a practical perspective, if driving, Whidbey Island can only be reached by ferries in several locations, or by crossing the Deception Pass Bridge.
The town center is very walkable, with shops, art galleries and studios, restaurants, and both general and touristy stores conveniently located. We stocked up on supplies at the handy Star Store, enjoyed many of the art galleries and also visited the Langley Whale Center which is part of the Orca Network.
We had a great break at The Inn at Langley on Whidbey Island. Even though the restaurant and spa were both closed as a result of Covid impact, the stay was wonderful and the location served as a great base camp for exploring all of Whidbey Island.
We were introduced to Rocky Pond in 2018 when a Rocky Pond Chardonnay was featured on the wine list at Anthony's Seafood restaurant in Gig Harbor. After a few dinners with the wine, we made this trip to Woodinville and were exposed to the total wine lineup from Rocky Pond, which is extensive and pretty much full of great hits.
We don't always have clear nights to enjoy full moons, but it seems like a regular occurrence this year. This September we had a beautiful display by the Harvest Moon over Puget Sound as it rose over the South Sound. I have selected only a few of the photos taken. The moon is particularly stunning when it reflects across the water of the Sound. Enjoy.

It was a a beautiful day and early evening as we began our 7 day voyage on board the Celebrity Cruise Millennium headed for Alaska. Pier 66 is a picturesque starting point for a cruise and the Seattle city skyline expands beautifully as the ship leaves port. we've never been able to see the waterfront and Seattle skyline from this vantage point before and we truly enjoyed the view.
The Celebrity Millennium is one of the "Revolutionized" ships in the fleet. The Revolution is a modernization of the ships which really updates and adds refined and modernized touches to a ship which has been in service for a while. We had sailed the Millennium several times pre-revolution and always enjoyed ourselves, but the Revolution has truly updated and improved the ship in many ways.
We spent some pleasant time visiting Firwood Farm Alpacas in Fife, Washington. Firwood Farm Alapacas is focused on Alpaca Rescue, so it has a great mission to rescue and foster alpacas in need. The visit allowed us to get up close to the alpacas, feed them, and, more importantly, learn about them from the knowledgeable owner of the farm. Firwood Farm also offers Alpaca Yoga, which we did not indulge in, but I think would be great fun for any yoga or alpaca fan.
