We stayed 8 nights at Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun. This was during the Covid-19 pandemic so the experience was made even more interesting because of it. The summary is that the stay was excellent, with excellent service, food and location.
We booked a Preferred Club Honeymoon Suite with Ocean views and were situated in a building as close to the beach as was possible. We spent significantly more time in one of the two large pools, so beach access was more for the view and ocean sounds then for actual swimming, but I think the experience may be more related to some of the rainy weather we encountered which made the sea a little rougher for swimming. The room itself was spacious, well appointed and extremely comfortable during the 8 night stay.
We also booked a presidential cabana on the beach which came with dedicated waiter service and also a bottle of wine or sparking wine. It was a peaceful place to go to and come back to after taking swimming breaks or venturing out for lunch. In reality, you didn’t even have to leave the cabana since someone checked up on you frequently and also brought lunch, drinks or any requested items to you.
We felt the restaurants and evening entertainment were top-notch. It seemed that every request was considered and fulfilled if at all possible. A few of the venues were curtailed due to Covid-19 and that was understandable and practical under the circumstances. We especially liked the experience at Bordeaux, the French restaurant and also Portofino, the Italian restaurant.
